VAT Reduction for holidays
As you are now probably aware, the Chancellor of the Exchequer has decided to reduce VAT from 17.5% to 15% from today to the end of 2009, in an effort to stimulate spending. As a business, we would like to pass on the VAT saving, however small, to you our customers. We have therefore sought permission from all VAT registered owners to offer a discount to reflect the saving from the advertised rental of their properties*.
To give you an example of the sort of saving you may receive, if the cost for a booked week is £1000, the discount on your booking would be just under £20.
Some owners of our properties are not VAT registered, which means the discount would not apply. If you are interested in booking one of our large holiday houses or castles our administration staff will be very happy to advise whether a discount might apply.
Not a huge amount, we know - but every little helps!
*based on bookings confirmed from 1st December 2008 to the 31st December 2009 (or whenever the VAT rate is increased).
