What Are You Doing This Summer?

We have just moved up in the world. Well, from a downstairs office to an upstairs one! Our mode of abode is a lovely barn conversion with exposed beamed ceilings, huge heat induced velux windows, flowerpots outside the front door brimming with geraniums etc. I hope I’m conjuring up all the right images that go hand in hand with working in the countryside!

Since we’ve moved upstairs however, we’re experiencing a rise in temperature (by a few degrees) which means we’ve all had to break into our summer wardrobe early. It’s so positively tropical that the hot topic (excuse the pun) of conversation around the water cooler these days is where are we going for our holidays this summer.

I don’t know about you, but we’ve noticed recently people planning their family holidays later and later, particularly this year (self catering holidays that is). No guesses why. It’s true to say that last minute and short break bookings are becoming less of the exception and more of the rule. We’ve also noticed disappointment goes hand in hand when booking a holiday is left too late, as the surge in interest at the last minute increases the risk of not finding a suitable holiday house, cottage or lodge with availability in time.

Like the majority, we too are still deliberating over where we are going to go this year. What I can say is that we will categorically be booking our self catering holiday properties very soon, having witnessed the consequences of leaving it too late!

So, have you decided where you’ll be going on holiday this year? Will you be taking your family abroad or will you be holidaying in the UK? If you’d like some ideas for self catering holidays in Scotland – we are full of them.

These are for starters.

For a family of 4 looking for a holiday cottage on a private estate in the Scottish Borders for the first week of July.

For a family of 8 looking to rent a pet friendly castle in Morayshire for the first two weeks in August.

For two families of 10 looking for houses with indoor pools in Argyllshire for the first week in July or the last week in August.

For two families of 14 looking for the traditional bucket and spade type holiday in a seaside large self catering holiday house in Angus why not try this holiday property with sea views and private access to a beach. Still available for the last two weeks in June and the last week in August.

For a three generational family holiday for up to 19, why not try this magnificent, beautifully appointed private large holiday house in the Scottish Highlands (well Sutherland to be exact) a spectacular shooting lodge with stunning loch views. Two weeks still available over the summer period; the second week in July and the 2nd week in August.

GOING .. GOING .. GOING … ……………………………………………………………………[GONE]!
