Nessie Sighted – on Google Earth!
Is nothing sacred! Last month a security guard in Nottingham, Jason Cooke, claimed to have spotted the Loch Ness Monster using Google’s satellite mapping programme. The image, which can be seen by entering coordinates Latitude 57°12′52.13″N, Longitude 4°34′14.16″W in Google Earth, depicts a large object resembling an unknown creature clearly visible beneath or on the surface of the water.
Whilst this adds to the catalogue of sightings of “Nessie”, the legend of a mysterious creature endures and this monster remains the subject of mass intrigue and debate. Today, there is a “Loch Ness Exhibition Centre” at Drumnadrochit and a number of cruise boats which do organised trips on the water. And if you are lucky – you might get a glimpse of something lurking and then you will know the truth!
